M Evelyn Adams

Evelyn graduated in 1951 from Whiting High School in Indiana, and married William E. Greathouse. Evelyn attended nursing school (St Luke’s Chicago) was a homemaker and raised six children eventually settling in Crown Point, Indiana. She worked as an operating room nurse at St. Anthony’s and earned a BS in Nursing (St Francis College) during this time. She met Robert (Bob) F. Adams in the late seventies and they married January 9th, 1980. Evelyn and Bob retired in 1995 and moved to Sun City, Arizona. They enjoyed travelling across the country in their motorhome and many summers in Montana near Kalispell. Evelyn loved all kinds of crafts, quilting, calligraphy, crochet, and started a basket making group in Sun City. She also loved weaving, having several portable looms and several larger looms in her home. She leaves behind an assortment of baskets, paintings and other art that she created or collected.

She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Adams and his son Ken and his wife Tina. She is also survived by her six children, Wesley S. Greathouse, and his wife Amanda, Lydia M. Kozlowski and her husband Gene, William E. Greathouse, Jr. and his wife Kim, Cynthia L. Greathouse and her wife Linda, Robert G. Greathouse and his wife Kismet, John L. Greathouse and his wife Tara; and 18 grandchildren, Oliva Creel, Sadie Creel, Stacy Kozlowski, Eric Kozlowski, Justin Kozlowski, Jessica Swartz, Kristina Greathouse, Tanya Greathouse, Jacob Loney, Krisha Schauf, Matthew Loney, Miranda Greathouse, Melissa Greathouse, Alara Greathouse, Wally Greathouse, Jacob Greathouse, Joseph Greathouse, and Jaclyn Greathouse, and fifteen great grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews, and their children.

Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Ingvald and Ethel Leland, and brothers and sisters Edward I., Robert M., Clarence E., Georgiana R., John L., Wesley R., Hilda M., Florence E., Harla J., Edith M., and Grace E.

There will be a private family celebration of life July 2nd, 2023 which would have been her 90th birthday, in Sun City, AZ
