Margarette Ann (Gazda) Eisenhour, 92, passed away peacefully and went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2017. She was born April 5, 1924 in St.Louis, MO to Joseph S. Gazda and Mary K. (Plattner) Gazda. She was affectionately known by her family as “Margie”. Margie’s immediate family that has predeceased her include her sister, Marion (Gazda) Schieber (husband, Don), two brothers, Alvin “Bud” Gazda (wife, Edith) and Harold M. Gazda (wife, Marjorie “Margie”). Also left to cherish her memory are brother-in-law, Snowden Eisenhour (wife, Helen), nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Margarette was also predeceased by her husband, George “Wayne” Eisenhour in August, 2004.
Margarette was a “TRUE AMERICAN” who had a deep respect for the men and women who served with our military. She was employed by the US federal government working as a secretary in the US and overseas. Margarette loved her family, loved to travel, loved to dine out, and loved to shop. She was a very kind, generous, eloquent, strong, and very proud person. One of the many very special and generous things she and her husband, Wayne, did was taking her immigrant father who became a US citizen, Joseph to his homeland country Hungary, sixty two years later just prior to his passing away. There were too many acts of kindness and generosity similar to this one over her years here on earth to summarize.
Margarette was a long time member and attendee to the Lakeview United View Church in Sun City. Services will be Wednesday, March 1, at Lakeview UMC, 10298 W. Thunderbird Blvd., Sun City, AZ with visitation beginning at 12:30PM until start of service at 1:30PM in Lakeview Chapel. Interment follows at 2:30PM at Sunland Memorial Park, 15826 Del Webb Blvd., Sun City, AZ.
Margarette loved her very loyal and dedicated caregivers and doctor at Freedom Plaza. The family expresses their gratitude to these individuals.
