Martha Jean Davis

Martha Davis (88) peacefully graduated to Glory with family by her side on Sunday morning, Oct. 30, 2016, and is now with her Savior Jesus and her sweetheart George. Born in Paris, OH in August 1928 to Homer & Ruth Downs, she was the youngest of 6 children, all deceased. Mom married dad in 1946 and had 2 daughters. The family moved to Arizona in the late 50’s. They began attending Palmcroft Baptist Church soon after and continued as long as health allowed. Mom worked at Mountain Bell for years before retiring. She and dad loved bowling, playing cards, traveling and visiting places around the world with friends and family. Mom and dad were married for 66 years before his passing 3 years ago. She never got over that, but enjoyed spending time with her family. We are grateful for the loving care she received at Glencroft in Manor I. She is survived by her 2 daughters: Cheryl (Lynn) Hitson, Georgia (Robert) Bohm; her grandchildren: Nathan (Cindy) Hitson, Faith (Marc) Burmich, and Matt McEachron; and her 4 great-grandchildren: Gracie & Annika, Abby & Josh. She will be missed but we rejoice over her graduation. A graveside memorial service is planned in December. Philippians 1:21 “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
