Annie married the love of her life (since kindergarten), Roger B. Oltman, on December 30, 1950. Their partnership in life led them to call many different states "home." Their family journey began in Minnesota, continued to grow in Missouri, and was completed in Pennsylvania. A move to North Carolina became their retirement haven. Finally, due to health reasons, their journey together ended in Arizona to be near family. Annie had a great sense of humor that remained with her until the end of her life. She will always be remembered for her loving, compassionate and faithful way of life, especially her lifelong desire to find, know and serve God. Annie loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren fiercely. She is most known for her amazing chocolate chip cookies, which she would always bake for family get-togethers and her love of whipped cream.
Mary Ann is survived by her six children, Mary Christine (Earl) Peters, Charles B. (Isabel) Oltman, Roger J. (Kimberly) Oltman, Catherine A. (late Craig) Quigley, Robert G. (Sue Ann) Oltman, and Danielle S. (Wallace) Czekalski; 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren (and counting!). She is also survived by her older sister, Shirley Guthmann of Monroe, North Carolina. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Roger and four siblings (Leon, Frank, Bob, and Steve).
A Celebration of Life will be held for immediate family only in Sun City Arizona on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that charitable donations be made to Sunshine Service in Sun City, Arizona (sunshine904.wordpress.com) in her memory.
