Mary Ellen Silliman, born August 8, 1926 in Montrose, CO passed peacefully in her sleep November 13, 2014 at her home. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Clayton Silliman; her son, Michael Silliman; and her grandson, Jason Dempsey. Mary is survived by her daughter-Vicki Jo Bigelow; son-Ric Silliman; daughter-Kathy Wilson; and daughter-Robin Lynn Ochylski, all of Phoenix. She is a Grandmother and Great-Grandmother to many incredible young men, women and children. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Obenhaus of Texas.
An educator, athlete, artist and writer, she was deeply involved with her Catholic Church. She enjoyed the symphony and plays. She loved to travel. As she married a man in the Air Force, she certainly got her wish. Her last journey will be celebrated on November 20, 2014 at Sunland Memorial Park Mortuary, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351. Viewing will be at 1:00 p.m. and services at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Sunland Memorial Park Cemetery.
