

behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lifelong service. Born in the Midwest during the years following the Great Depression, she was the youngest of seven children in a close-knit family that settled in Aberdeen, South Dakota.
Maryann was a vibrant and artistic soul from an early age. She loved to sing, performed in high school theatre, and had a remarkable sense of humor—especially when it came to puns, which she shared generously with those around her. Her creativity and warmth made her a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Following her graduation from high school, Maryann felt a spiritual calling and entered a convent in Rochester, Minnesota. Her time there deepened her commitment to education and service. She began teaching and mentoring students, and later expanded her reach by speaking at conferences across the country, helping educators improve their craft. Her passion for teaching continued long after she left the convent, as she believed she could make a broader impact in the world beyond its walls.
Throughout her life, Maryann was devoted to her family. She lovingly cared for her parents in their later years and later became a companion to her older sister. Together, they shared many joyful adventures, laughter, and memories. Maryann continued to brighten the lives of those around her.
Maryann was preceded in death by her parents, and all of her siblings. She is survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends. Though she did not have children of her own, she was a treasured aunt and great-aunt to many and a guiding presence in the lives of younger generations.
Her faith, compassion, and humor touched countless lives. Maryann will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
