

Melvin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His post was with the Army Corps of Engineers, building bridges and roads for our soldiers to traverse throughout Korea. Upon returning home, Melvin developed and excelled in the trade as a Machinist for North American Aviation, where he worked on projects with the highest level of security at the time, such as the X-15, and XB-70. He relocated to Arizona in 1971. Thereafter, Melvin worked for Allied Signal in an increased security level post machining parts for aircraft engines. He took great pride in his work Mel never met a stranger and always had a joke or amusing yarn to spin. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
Melvin is preceded in death by his wife, Suanne, and siblings Marlene, Marvin, Ronald, Richard and Gregory. Melvin is survived by his partner, Joan; sisters, Maxine and Janet (Buzz); his sons, Timothy (Maggie), David (Nancy), Danny (Debbie), and daughter, Shawna ; step daughters, Terea (Sean), Sondra (Curt), and Rena (Jack). Melvin has 20 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
