Merrill E. Harlan, of Peoria, AZ, has gone to be with the Lord. He was born in Elyria, Ohio and has lived here for 66 years. Merrill was 72 this past March. Merrill is survived by his loving wife Patricia; his daughters, Michelle Harlan, Susan (Eric) Gibson; his sons, Mark Harlan, Chad (Tina) Segersten; Seven grandchildren; Brother Boyd Chisholm, many nieces and nephews; and extended family. He was loved by many, was always involved with his community as a Teacher, Coach, and Principal, as a Glendale Rotary member, as a church member, as an avid ASU fan, as a Prison Mentor. He regularly kept in touch with his high school friends and former students. For all of us, he was a great supporter and mentor and friend. He loved his family deeply, but the most important thing in his life was his relationship with Jesus Christ. Merrill knew where he would spend Eternity. A Memorial Service to Celebrate Merrill’s life will be held at Mountain Ridge Baptist Church, 23104 N. 67th Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85310, on July 12 at 11:00 am with a luncheon reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Church at Arrowhead Youth Ministry, 7902 W. Union Hills Drive, Glendale, AZ 85308 or to Along Side Ministries, 2830 W. Northern Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85051.
