Dad, You lived your life to the fullest & gave back to God what He gave to you. You really impacted my life & I'll never forget all the interest and support you showed me.  You were kind and compassionate to your family and even strangers too.  You would say, "good job" to those you didn't know & left a positive mark on them as well.  You enjoyed "family gatherings" as you called them & enjoyed sharing with us all. Your sense of humor put things at ease. The memories we have shared will live in our hearts forever & you will never be forgotten.  You were an amazing man. I can only imagine what it was like when you met Jesus and He said, "well done my good and faithful servant."  We'll carry on from here. Can't wait until I see you again, with all of my love, Tamara

"His Actions Speak Louder Than Words"

My Dad was a man of few words.  I do remember one phrase he did say from time to time..."Give the Lord a Fair Shake"  I believe it was a phrase his dad may of said on the farm when he was growing up.  I really appreciate dad taking the whole family to Church on Sunday's and even on Wednesday evenings too.  We never missed a Sunday in Church, what a committment he made and sacrifice to God.  I really honor him for that.  My dad wouldn't just talk about doing something, he just did it.  We had a couple of Traditions in our family one was family Golf Tournaments...Dad thanks for taking the time to teach me how to play Golf....I really enjoyed every game and spending time with you on the course, learning this great game of Golf...Dad loved the game of Golf and he was good at it.  Here again action that speaks louder than words.  Learning to face challanges on the course of life.  Thanks for also helping me get a B.A. Degree in Communications at Grand Canyon University.  I appreciate all your help on the Economics and Accounting... he was a number cruncher.  Dad was always there to lend a helping hand. everywhere we were.  He was a Business Man and a hard worker at that.  Dad was very generous with his money and made some financial sacrifices to help us through life.  Dad stopped working on Saturdays, cause I broke my arm and he decided that spending Saturdays with us was more important than the job.  Dad retired at age 50 and invested his money in properties.  We also enjoyed going Deep Sea Fishing, especially in Banff, Canada.  Dad always treated others with respect, and was willing to make sacrifices to help others.  He was "Doer of the Word, not just a hearer".  The bible says train up a child in the way he should go and they shall not depart from it.  And he certain lead by example of his own life for all to witness.  Dad, I look forward to working on some projects the Lord will have for us in Heaven, Please keep praying for me here, I look forward to being there with you.  Dad, thanks again for your Office Pen set you left with me, you were always writing somethng down... just like me. Dad wrote the phrase you see on the back of construction trucks today, when he worked at Peter Kiewitt Construction company... it was, "Caution Sudden Stops" you will see this on all the trucks around town and he never Patent it.  I dedicate this quote I wrote on behalf of my Dad.  "Love is measured by what we do not by what we say!" - Sterling.   May God Bless you.

Dad, I have thought of many things to say but I find in reflection of the past several months helping you that I would rather keep my thoughts and time with you for myself.

Suffice to say:  You were the best example anyone could have of patience and strength for those who have yet to face their time at end on this earth.  Enjoy your reward for a life well lived!

I will be seeing you someday Dad and bring you a chocolate milk!

It is with great sadness  that I note the passing of Morrie. Morrie and I worked together on jobs in Colorado and in Phoenix.  Morrie was a good Kiewit employee and a friend. No one was ever a better custodian of the company's money than Morrie. It was my pleasure to have known him. My condolences to his family.

I share great memories with Morrie in that we were young men together embarking on a great adventure with the Kiewit Companies.  There were about six of us single young men enjoying first the bachelor life together, and then gradually as we all married we shared lives as young families, and eventually as retirees.  Morrie was often the organizer and driving force of all our get togethers.  We all respected Morrie because he was the most competent and productive person at that position anywhere in the company.  When he left, it took several people to replace him.  Morrie enriched all of our lives because he took an interest in our lives and because he wss the planner and scheduler of our social events both during our tenure in the company and afterwards in retirement.  Morrie was also a great example to us as a family man and as a ministry leader in his church.  Morrie lived a great life, he leaves a great legacy, and it was a privilege to know him.

Uncle Morrie always tried to keep things on a serious note, but once that whole Hockamier clan would get together, the shenanigans and good times would spill over to everyones enjoyment. It was great to be able to talk to you one last time and your faith or compassion never waivered. You are now joining the rest of the family and oh what a time you all must be having. Give everyone a big hug from us, you all will remain in our hearts forever! My sympathy to Aunt Joan, Tammy, Tab, Mason and Sterling. Keep his memory close to your heart and he will always be near you.

Thinking of Uncle Morrie brings back memories of his silly side. Crazy card games with his brothers, dressing up as Santa and playfully teasing Grandma, to her delight.  My family always looked forward to his Christmas phone call. He faced death as he did life, with intelligence, organization and bravery. He was loved and will always be missed. Rest in peace.

We will surely miss our brother-n-law. He was a good guy. We'll long remember the many lunches we four had together, and many other good times as well. He remained steadfast without wavering.

I didn't know Uncle Morris well, but I know he was a great friend to his brother, Gordon, also my dad.  I have a sweet recording of them singing "Swanee River" together as young boys with Morris on accordion.  I treasure that recording and will always remember my uncle through that.  My condolences to Aunt Joan and the family.  Keep the good memories alive.

Much love to Joan and the family.  I'm so glad I was able to see you both in March in Phoenix.  I will miss not seeing you but know you are now with your best friend, Gordon, in Heaven.  As I miss Gordon, I will miss you, Morrie.
