Norman Karl Thomas was born in Chicago, Il on 8/21/39 to Clara and George. Norm did not have an easy childhood but found his soulmate in Mary Ann. As childhood sweethearts, they married on 9/6/58 and were blessed with four children. Norm was a traveling salesperson, purchasing agent, a realtor, and a painter during his career. Because of his “big” personality, he was affectionately referred to as “Stormin’ Norman”. Norm enjoyed coaching and participating in his sons’ sports while they were children. Another passion he enjoyed was golf, bowling and 16” softball, always the athlete. In his later years, he enjoyed walking both the mall and the neighborhood…. going about 4 miles per day.
Although Norm was not the cook in the kitchen, he was a master at mashing potatoes for special holiday meals. He also volunteered for several years in his church and at the bingo games.
Norm went to his eternal home on February 6, 2025.
Mary Ann and Norm passed away mere days apart; they never wanted to be apart. We can just hear Mary Ann saying, “Come on Thomas; let’s go” …. and he did”; nine days after her passing. They will both be missed dearly.
And he said to him, “Truly I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise”. Luke 23:43
