Olene Edwards

Olene Edwards was born July 18, 1929 in McVeigh, Kentucky to Morene and Andrew Cosby Sr.in McVergh, Kentucky. She was second oldest of six siblings. in here early teens the family moved to Pontiac, MI. She attended high school at Pontiac high and meet and married her high school sweetheart Freddy Edwards and to this unit was born two daughter Belinda and Susan.

Olene first love was nursing, life happened and she was unable to complete her schooling, she had to move in another direction, but not to far from her career desire as she raise her two daughters. So worked at St Joseph Mercy Hospital. There she worked in several departments. Matching her first love of nursing. Which included Neonatal and physical theory.

After 20 years of serves she was offered an opportunity to work at GM. She worked for GM and retired after 20 years of serves. She visited and feel in love with Arizona and decided that is where she would live out her retirement.

Christ has always been her first love and received her salvation in the 70's Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Mi, were she work faithfully doing the lord's work in usher, education department and redesign the nursing department and created a child nursey. Upon moving to AZ she created nursing station at El Beth in Phoenix, AZ. When Mother Olene Edwards, attended Antioch COGIC, it was her time to just enjoy the word of the Lord and take a sit. It was time to hand the reigns over to the next generation. Mother Edwards was a powerful prayer warrior spend her time in the word, prayer and praising and worshipping the Lord. Any one who knew her knew that she was sweet and generous and very loving.

She is greatly missed!!!

Visitation & Funeral service will take place at Antioch Church of God in Christ, 9600 W Peoria Ave, Peoria, AZ 85345, on June 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Committal Service will be held at Sunland Memorial Park, Mortuary &, 15826 Del Webb Blvd, Sun City, AZ 85351, US, on June 18, 2026, from 1:30 pm.
