He and his wife moved to Sun City, Arizona in 2015 to be closer to family and to enjoy winter golfing weather.
Paul was often remembered for his athletic achievements in both basketball and baseball. He started his athletic career by playing Little League baseball, but soon became more interested in basketball, which he played throughout high school. After graduating in 1953, while waiting for school to begin, he joined a summer baseball team in Baker, Oregon. That fall he became a freshman at the University of Portland were he led the freshman basketball team in scoring & rebounding. The next year, he transferred to Boise Junior College to play basketball and in the 1954-55 season they won the conference title and became the first team to enter the national tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. In 1956, he set a league record for most appearances in a season (56). After being released from the Braves he spent a couple of years playing baseball in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. When he returned to Boise he stayed involved in athletics by joining a City League Basketball team. It was after this that he moved on to golf, which he played frequently for the remainder of his life.
Golf was clearly one of his greatest passions. Over the years, Paul and Pat took many golf vacations and have played at more than 50 courses in the Western United States and Canada. Paul also took several golf trips to California with his buddies, playing some of the most famous courses in the world, including Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, Cypress Point, the Olympic Club, San Francisco Country Club, and Rancho Murieta.
Paul was also an avid sportsman. When he was not playing ball or golfing, he loved to hunt. He hunted big game and a variety of birds, but his favorite was duck hunting. He was also a great fisherman and spent many days on the water with a pole in his hand.
Paul was a devoted husband and father and was loved very much by his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patricia Sereduk, his son Christopher and daughter-in-law Ryan, three grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and nieces & nephews.
