Pawana “Noi” Marquardt was born in Surin, Thailand on September 9, 1939. She passed away peacefully in her home in Peoria, Arizona on August 17, 2021. She is survived by Robert Marquardt, Jr., her four children Fila Paragas, Joe Paragas, Robert Marquardt III, and Sherry Gray, and eight beautiful grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Joanne Paragas.
Pawana was blessed with many inherent traits and talents and was truly one of a kind. Her entire life, she was always the consummate gardener able to grow anything in even the most unpredictable environmental conditions. Tropical fruits were no challenge to Pawana as she proudly grew bananas, papayas, mangos, and more from her home in Sun City. Pawana was also a fierce card player who was keenly aware of her ability to make even the most seasoned gambler quake in his boots with just her presence. Her love for international travel blossomed in retirement as she thoroughly enjoyed excursions to Europe and Asia so she could visit with her loving family and friends. She had a beautiful smile and unique sense of humor, and always found ways to laugh with those around her.
Pawana was a very brave Thai woman living in America who fought to overcome difficulties, struggles and challenges. She protected and loved her children very much and her beloved grandchildren were the brightest light in her world. Everyone lucky enough to know and love Pawana knew that she would be a loyal friend for life. She will very much be missed by all who knew her.
