

It is with the deepest sadness that we must announce the passing of Peter Anthony Rimlinger, 85, of Sun City West, AZ. Peter was born on June 23, 1939 and lived on this earth until December 15, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Servas Rimlinger; daughter, Colleen Rimlinger; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Nathan Seda and Natalie Rodriguez Seda; and son, Mark Rimlinger.
Peter was born to Alfred P. and Lillian Arbert Rimlinger in Jersey City, New Jersey and lived on 49 West Oldis St. in Rochelle Park, NJ. He attended Pope Pius XII High School in Rochelle Park, NJ as a member of the Class of 1957 and graduated from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, NJ in 1961 with a B.S. in Accounting where he lettered on the College Rifle Team and was a member of ROTC. After college, Peter joined the U.S. Army as an officer. He attained the rank of Captain CPT 0-3 in the Finance Corps. and was a parachutist in the 82nd Airborne Division “All American”. While serving, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal and one Overseas bar. He received an Honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in 1967.
On December 28, 1963, Peter married his lovely bride, Kathleen Servas, in Rochelle Park, NJ. They were married for 62 years.
Peter lived in many cities during his life in conjunction with his service in the U.S. Army and then during his career as a Financial Planner for Westinghouse Electric Company. While serving in the Army, he was stationed in Fort Bragg, NC; the Springfield Armory in Springfield, MA; Okinawa, Japan; Bangkok, Thailand and Vietnam.
Peter and Kathleen welcomed their first-born child, Colleen Marie, while stationed at the Springfield Armory in 1966.
After returning to civilian life, he was able to begin his career and to grow his family in East Brunswick, NJ where his son, Mark Joseph was born in 1969. Peter and his family moved several times along the East Coast before settling in Pittsburgh, PA in 1975 where he worked for Westinghouse Electric and Eaton Corp. through 2000.
Upon retirement, Kathleen and he moved to Sun City West, AZ where they lived year-round until his passing. His love for travel and adventure followed Kathleen and him into retirement. They traveled the globe to far off places such as the Holy Land, Egypt, Jordan, and Ephesus. They visited the cold northern Scandinavian countries and Alaska and enjoyed the northeastern US and Canadian coastline during the Autumn. When things got too cold there, they traveled to Australia and New Zealand and then returned home to the Sonoran Desert.
Peter was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Sun City West where he served as Altar Server with Kathleen and was an Arizona District 4th Degree of the Knight of Colombus Council
11809. He was very devoted to his faith and the healing powers of Mother Mary and the Rosary. When traveling in retirement, he centered many of his trips around these concepts.
Over the years, Peter’s free time was full of creative and challenging hobbies. Skeet shooting; fly fishing; rail-to-trails biking; camping; hiking; bowling; travel and cruising; visiting any place having to do with US history; reading mystery, spy and intrigue novels; gardening vegetables; marksmanship and target shooting; computer buff and leading edge Techie; stained glass craftsman; ceramic mold pouring guru; consummate spread sheet creator and life organizer; master of sarcasm and subtle jokes; and watching the Steelers and any football game were all his forte.
Peter will be forever remembered for his honesty, dependability, faith, and his unwavering strength in the face of adversity. Peter was the definition of grit and determination, and he strove to impart these strengths in his family and to all those who were his friends and with whom he served and worked.
We will miss him beyond words and his spirit will live on in our hearts and minds guiding us to be better people while here on Earth.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00AM on Friday, January 23, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Parish, 19002 N. 128th Ave., Sun City West, AZ. Interment will be private. A reception in the Madonna Hall will be held after the funeral service.
