He was born in Chicago, IL. Ray and his wife Betty raised their family in Chicago where he worked as a construction manager whose crowning achievement was the construction of the Sears Tower.
Ray honorably served his country during WWII in the United States Army. He will always be remembered as a devoted family man, his work with The Boy Scouts of America and as a true Patriot. Ray portrayed the character “Uncle Sam” in many Memorial Day, Veterans Day, 4th of July and patriotic celebrations.
He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Northwest Valley Veterans Association and life member of the St Clement of Rome Men’s Club.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Betty; children, Ricky and his wife Ira, Mark and his wife Beth, Maureen and her husband Steven, Laurence and his wife Karen and Ellen; two grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday November 28, 2012 from 5-8PM at Sunland Mortuary, Sun City, AZ with a Funeral Mass celebrated at 10AM on Thursday November 29, 2012 at St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church.
