Robert Gordon Shappley, age 85, of Sun City West, AZ went to his Great Reward with his Lord and Savior on July 4th, 2023. He was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee by his loving parents Troy and Helen Shappley. He met his wife Billie, while in High School, and they married on January 28, 1959. Robert worked as a Clerk in the Municipal court system in Memphis before getting on with the City of Memphis’ Planning Department in the early days of computers when the behemoth mainframe computers actually used “punch cards”. There, he learned computer programming and writing software. From there, his knowledge, and many years of hard work, got him to the ranks of Senior System Analyst/Director at a very well known credit card company based here in the States. In 1981 Robert graduated from Ottawa University Phoenix with a Masters degree in Business. He loved his Church, air planes, golf, astronomy and spending time with his family. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Billie and granddaughter Caitlyn. Robert is survived by his son Mitchell Shappley, daughter Michelle Shappley, Grand-daughters, Mikala Shappley-Phelps and Tara Shappley. Also, his great grandchildren Eli, Micah, Kai and Emilia.
Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 20th 2023 at Church on the Green at 19051 North R. H. Johnson Blvd, Sun City West, AZ 85375.
