Roger S. Marshall

March 31, 1945April 2, 2021

Roger Sherwood Marshall marched through heaven's gates April 2, 2021. Roger was born March 31, 1945 to Dorothy Marshall (deceased 1957). He was raised by Milford (Moose) and Margaret (Billie) Marshall and his grandparents Ed and Laura Merkel (both deceased). Roger enlisted in the U.S. Air Force the day after high school graduation and proudly served for 7 years. He was a Vietnam veteran. On April 6, 1968, Roger married his soul mate and love of his life Janet Lee (Cooke) in Plevna, MT. He was the proud father of Brandy Rose (deceased 2012). Roger is survived by mother in law Eleanor Cooke, sister in laws Yvonne (Danny) Thompson and Beryl Kay (Sam) Simpson, half-brother Scott Marshall of Washington, DC and Kathy Dyer of Saranac Lake, NY. Rog is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, one niece and several nephews and his special princess Freckles. Roger was preceded in death by various aunts, uncles, cousins and special friend John Bisbine. Roger worked for Colorado State University, Ft. Collins, CO for 20+ years as Surplus Property Manager. He was one of the few people known that truly loved his job and looked forward to going to work. But most of all, Roger loved his Lord Jesus Christ serving in his church as usher/greeter. He told everyone he could about Jesus and always asked them if they knew where they would go if they died that minute. He always had a big smile and ready to give a big bear hug. Oh how that smile and hugs will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held 2:45 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021 at Treasured Song Gathering 17280 N 63rd Ave. Glendale, AZ 85303. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Roger's name to Samaritan's Purse PO Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607.

Jan, I am very sorry for your loss. What a special guy you've had in your life all these years. My fondest memory of Roger was calling Surplus and asking what he was up to. His response: Just enjoying another day in paradise.

We met Mrs Roger and Mrs Jan at church and they welcome us into their lives like we were his own children, Mr Roger was our wedding officiant, that’s how special he was to us . So much love and great memories I treasure but one of my main ones is during a time of trial I called mr Roger and his sweet soft voice he told me “leave it in Jesus hands” and I can always hear him saying it , is on my hear.

When I moved to Wellington Roger and Jan were the first to welcome us. I knew when we arrived at church Roger would be waiting with a hug.

You truly have marched into Heaven, Roger, and you are already so missed. We are honored to have been your close friend for so many precious years and we look forward to the day we see you again in Heaven. What a celebration that will be! We will take good care of Jan for you until we can all be together once again. Blessed in his Precious Name.
