Roy Albert Agee, age 92 born on December 25, 1923, was peacefully called home to his Heavenly Father with family at his side on July 17, 2016. On August 5, 1943 he married Barbara Cummins, who passed away in 2015 after 71 years of marriage. Barbara was the love of his life and his family rejoices that they are once again reunited in Heaven. Roy was blessed with a heart filled with love for his family and friends. He was a loving husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend who devoted his life to his family.
He proudly served his country as an MP in the US Army. He was a WWII Veteran and during the war he served in Northern Africa, Italy, France, Germany, and Austria. After the Army, he worked as a police officer in Dayton, he worked at NCR, and also had his own tv shop in Greenville. He was the manager of Agee's Farmer's Market from the late 1940's until he retired in 1991. He was a member of Bellevue Heights Church in Sun City, and was loved by all who knew him- always lending a hand to those in need. He enjoyed collecting and working on classic cars, driving, painting, listening to music, playing the harmonica, Westerns and classic movies, golfing, gardening, dancing, working on projects around house, and spoiling his grandchildren. To those who knew him he was truly a gift from God. All of us our better for having known Roy and having experienced his joy and his enthusiasm for life and his generous soul. He brightened spirits with his quick wit and constant support. He was loving, intelligent, funny, confident, courageous, and independent- a true protector. The lives of those he left behind will never be the same.
