

Born on September 9, 1941, Steven was a lifelong learner and a man of great curiosity and kindness. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Ferris State University, where he was also a proud member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Over the course of his career, he worked for Cutler-Hammer, EATON, and Border States, where he was known for his dedication and professionalism.
Steven lived a full, vibrant life. He was an avid golfer, a nature lover, and a devoted caretaker of his plants and flowers. He found joy in music, animals, walking, and staying up to date with the latest in computers and technology. Those who knew him best will remember his sharp wit, kind heart, and thoughtful wisdom.
During his time in Arizona, Steven became a cherished member of the community, forming many close friendships. He volunteered as a dispatcher with the Westbrook Posse, a role he took great pride in.
Steven is survived by his daughter, Nicole (Spelker) Naji; his nephew, Steven J. Spelker; nephew, Rudy Spelker-Santillanes; sister-in-law, Kathy Spelker; and niece, Susan Popp. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John D. Spelker, nephew Frank Spelker and his infant son, Steven Spelker.
Steve’s family would also like to make mention of his special friends: Grant (Barb) Crane Sr., Grant (Diana) Crane Jr., Ken Lesperance, Sandy Fouts and Louie, Mendy Charlton and her Father John (who made meals for Steve on a regular basis).
Cremation has taken place, and Steven will be laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Bay City, Michigan, alongside his parents and beloved son. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Steven will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
