Tony Tobias Sanchez

Tony T. Sanchez, age 77, passed away on Sept. 4, 2020. This beloved Son, Brother, and Uncle left this world to rejoin his loved ones in Heaven. Tony was a Vietnam Veteran, and served honorably from October 1967 to April 1969, and was awarded two Bronze Stars during his service. Tony left the military and returned home to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he was born. He worked hard his whole life to provide for his Mother, Pauline Martinez. He was preceded in death by her, his Sister Mable M. Lovato and Brother in Law Amarante J. Lovato, and his brother Donald Martinez. Tony is survived by his Brother Phillip Torres and Sister in Law Freida Torres. He was a fantastic Uncle to his nieces, Christine and Tanya, and to his Nephews Joe, Phillip Jr., and Tony. He was also a Great Uncle to Jomarie, Bethany, Logan, Tiarre, Santiago, Charles (Charlie), and a Great Great Uncle to Amelia, Grayson and Jackson.

A lifelong fisherman and hunter, Tony enjoyed the peace and solitude of nature, being away from everyone and everything. He often took his nieces and nephews with him, mostly to fetch beers and bait. A life long Denver Broncos fan, Tony could be heard every football Sunday cheering, jeering, and lamenting his favorite team.

He will be missed, and there will never be another like him.
