Walter C. Gohl, 95, passed away in Sun City, Arizona. He was born in Wayne, Michigan in 1920. At the young age of 21, he enlisted with the Navy and served during WWII from 1942 to 1945 aboard the USS Virgo and USS Bremerton CA-130. He was involved in the Asian-Pacific invasions including the Marshall and Gilbert islands.
Walter leaves behind to cherish his memories, wife, Joyce; children, Barbara (Milton) Green, Charles (Brenda) Gohl, Edward (Donna) Gohl, Catherine Gohl, David (Janelle) Gohl, Judith (Tom) Grandmason, Andrew Gohl, Majorie (Sharon) Armsbruster; step-children, Marialana and Richard Branch; 61 grand and great-children. Preceding him in death was a son, Walter ‘Butch’ Gohl, Jr. A memorial service will be held in Michigan at a later date.
