Billy Joe Witt, 81, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away on January 17, 2014. Billy was an avid sports fan, particularly of the New York Yankees and really enjoyed watching Spring Training Baseball games. During college, he was awarded a track scholarship at Arkansas University. He also had a great love for cars. Billy truly adored his family, especially his great grandchildren, as they really loved their "Pa"! He will be dearly missed by all those who loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Hazel Witt, brother, Doyle Witt and his daughter, Gail Lessley. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Willi Witt, granddaughter, Nicole (Matt) Rottnek, son-in-law, Douglas Lessley, great grandchildren, Caleb and Alexis Rottnek and sister, Gennela Harper. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 11:30 A.M. at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 W. Bell Rd., Surprise, Arizona 85374.
