

GARCIA-MORAL, Carlos Alberto, MD., Orthopedic Surgeon, 80, of Buckeye, Arizona, passed away on January 13, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlos Alfredo Garcia, and Maria Asuncion Moral. He is survived by his wife, Susan Sender Garcia-Moral; his daughter Giselle (Tom) Hazen; his son, Carlos Alec (Kim) Garcia-Moral; Susan's children, David A. (Jennifer) McClurg, and Etta (Doug) Marzean; and grandchildren, Braeden Baker, Mason Hazen, Colby Hazen, Payton Garcia-Moral, Preston Garcia-Moral, Brayden McClurg, and Faith McClurg; and his cousins, Oscar (Rita) Moral of Casbas, Argentina, and Christina (Rueben) Sevillano, of Mar Del Plata, Argentina. Dr. Garcia-Moral was born in Garre, Pcia de Buenos Aires, Argentina, on August 22, 1936. He became a United States Citizen in 1985. He graduated from the University of Buenos Aires Medical School, in Buenos Aries, Argentina in 1961 and was Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery in 1971. Doctor Garcia-Moral held Medical Licenses from the Argentina Republic, New Mexico State Board of Medical Examiners, and the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Examiners. His internship at Johnston Willis Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, was from 1964 to 1965. In 1968 and 1969, he was Chief Resident in Orthopedic Surgery, Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia. Fellowships and Awards include, but are not limited to: Fellowship in Children's Orthopedics, Carrie Tingley Hospital for Crippled Children Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; Fellowship in Hand Surgery, University of Colorado Medical Center, Denver, Colorado; Carl Berg Travelling Fellow, European Tour visiting Orthopedics Centers in England, Scotland, Switzerland, France, Spain, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Norway, Orthopedics Research and Education Foundation; and Founder, Oklahoma Hand Surgery Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Physician's Recognition Award in Continuing Medical Education, American Medical Association, from 1966 to 2010. Doctor Garcia-Moral held several hospital and academic appointments, and was a member, consultant, or fellow in many professional societies and committees. He formed numerous presentations, exhibits and reports, and authored various publications. He volunteered in many community and vocational organizations.
