Charles Thomas Haney, 69, of Surprise, AZ, passed away on May 1, 2014, with his family near his side. He was the beloved husband of Mary Lou; loving father of Tammy Kearney, Don Kunkel and Dawn Phillips (husband, Brian), dear grandfather to Marianna, Kate and Kennedy; dear brother of Patrick Haney (wife, Levern). Charles and Mary Lou began their life together on June 21, 1975, in Illinois. Charles honorably served his country for almost 8 years in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He was a Painter for the VA Hospital in Phoenix, AZ, for 25 years before his retirement in 2007. The Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am, Monday, May 5, 2014, with Visitation beginning at 10:00 am at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 W Bell Rd, Surprise, AZ. Military Honors and Interment will be at 12:30 pm at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, Phoenix. Arrangements under the direction of Surprise Funeral Care, Surprise, Arizona.
