Brad graduated from Tipton High School and went onto study fire science at Ivy Tech. He was a member of the Elks and the Scottish Rites. He was an avid racing fan and went to 57 consecutive Indy 500's and especially loved dirt track racing at Eldora.
He was a jack of all trades, from fighting fires, selling cars, to testing concrete and asbestos but no job was more important than being a husband, father, and grandparent.
Preceded in death by his parents Charles R. Hughes and Luana "Wannie" (Coppock) Hughes, many aunts and uncles, and cousin Kevin Hughes, he is survived by wife Mary Hughes, children Darci and Brian Hughes, son and daughter-in- laws Jason and Kelcy, and grandchildren Lilly, Atticus, and Liam.
Honoring his wishes there will not be a funeral service. However, at the Elks Lodge in Tipton, Indiana on Saturday evening from 5-8 PM January 23, 2016 we will have a Celebration of Brad’s life. All family and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, make a donation or buy a ticket to a race of choice and spare a thought or two for our beloved Brad Hughes.
