

Charles R. Lee Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025, in Surprise, Arizona, at the age of 74. Born on September 22, 1950, in Estell Manor, New Jersey, Charles grew into a man of great character, admired for his loving nature, handy skills, and passionate spirit.
Charles's life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and dedication. He shared an unwavering bond with his spouse of 55 years, Gloria Lee, a union blessed with four sons: Charles R. Lee Jr.(Linda), Michael Lee(Lynette), Stacy Lee(Veronica), and Christopher Lee(Judith Ann). His legacy further extended to 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, 8 niece and nephew all of whom he adored and took great pride in. Charles was the beloved brother of Anna Quintana and Pearlina Robinson, and he held a special place in the hearts as well as his brother-in-law Samuel Williams and sister-in-law Willie May Hollie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Othello and Geneva Lee; his sisters, Hannah Hollie and Charlotte Sanderlin; his brother William Hollie; and his brothers-in-law, Juan Quintana and Harrison Robinson. Each of them left an indelible mark on his heart, and he carried their memories with him throughout his life.
Charles's educational journey took place in Pleasantville, New Jersey, where he cultivated the skills and values that would guide him throughout his life. His professional career spanned several industries, including stints at McDonald's, Wheaton's Glass, and Lenox China. His strong work ethic and ability to connect with co-workers made him a respected figure both on and off the job.
Beyond his professional life, Charles had a deep love for watching old westerns on TV, a pastime that transported him to the days of yesteryear and the simple joys of storytelling. His hands were rarely still, as he found solace and satisfaction in working on cars, a hobby that showcased his mechanical prowess and problem-solving abilities. Yet, above all, Charles's favorite moments were those spent with his family, whether cheering on his beloved Cincinnati Bengals or simply enjoying the company of his loved ones.
Charles's life was a beautiful illustration of what it means to be loving, handy, and passionate. His love was a guiding light for his family, a beacon that shone through every action and word. His passion was evident in everything he did—from his hobbies to his unwavering support for his family and friends.
