

Dexter is survived by his wife, Deborah, three children: Thomas Gorski, Jason Gorski, and Pamela Fortune. He also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Dawson Gorski, Hunter Gorski, Evelyn Fortune and Maximus Fortune. As well as his brothers Gary and Martin (Rosie). Dexter was welcomed by his parents Tadeusz and Wilma Gorski in Heaven.
Dexter is a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a Sergeant in the Marines for 4 years. He earned several medals, including a Purple Heart Medal, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Navy Commendation Medal and Air Medal. Following his service as a Marine, he continued to serve his community as a dedicated Police Officer (call number 703) for the Village of Wheeling, IL where he retired after 30 years.
Dexter and his wife retired to Arizona in 2011, where he could often be found riding his bicycle around the neighborhood and enjoying time with his grandkids. He was often known for his quick witted and unique sense of humor, sharing "Dad Jokes" with whomever would listen. He was a hard working, loyal and dedicated man who was always quick to help his family when they needed it.
Dexter will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by his family, friends and those who both served and worked with him.
