He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald B., and Elizabeth A. Gates.
Doug is survived by his wife, Kelly Gates; children, Jayson (Tabitha) Gates, Christopher (Sarah) Gates, Candice (Stoney) Kimbell, and Charice Gates; stepchildren, Brittany Rossmango and Garrett Wentzell; 16 grandchildren; brothers, Robert (Nancy) Gates, William (Sherry) Gates, and Philip (Jan) Gates; sister, Donna Gates Cambon; and six nieces and nephews.
Doug was larger than life! He never met a stranger, and he always had a smile.
Doug was an avid golfer - with 4 holes in one!
He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, brother, and friend.
"Dougie" was a character - much, much loved by all of us!
