Elias was born on January 14, 1940 in Wharton, Texas to the late Salvador and Epifania Soto. After Elias graduated from Pueblo High School in 1959, he joined the Army and served his country for 6 years. Later in life, he went on to study and earn his Master's in Doctrine at California Christian University. After his time in the military, he proceeded to work as a truck driver since driving and mechanics were his passion. He had a great sense of humor that will be dearly missed. His grand and great-grand babies were his world, and he loved God. He never met a stranger and would talk to everyone about the Lord. In 1988 Elias accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and the remainder of his life he proceeded to follow the call that Jesus pressed in his heart.
In 1961, Elias met Crucita in the City of Peoria and then married on October 24, 1964. Elias and Crucita went on to have 2 children.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Crucita “Cruz” Soto; children, Elias Soto Jr. (Cathy) and Salvador Soto (Gina); sister, Tavia Moreno; Grandchildren, Elias Soto III, Antonio Soto, Samuel Soto, Timothy Soto, Salvadore Soto, Vanessa Rodriguez, Jason Weedman, and Gina Marie Weedman; and great-grandchildren, Annalisa Rodriguez, Isiah Rodriguez, Elijah Cruz Rodriguez, Noah Rodriguez, Cameron Soto, and Emma Soto.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM at Love International Ministries in Phoenix with a service to follow at 11 AM. A Graveside Service will be held at 1 PM in West Resthaven Memorial Park in Glendale.
