Frances Josie Montoya

She was the daughter of Ruben and Eugenia Montoya. Since 2001 Frances had called Arizona home. She was born in Cerillos, NM and spent most of her adult life residing in Gallup, NM. She spent six years in San Francisco, California before moving to Arizona. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She was a warm, loving, and nurturing presence to all who knew her.

A funeral mass will take place on Saturday July 11, 2026 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Gallup, NM at 10:30am.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her four sisters, eight brothers, her son Chris Lopez and grandson Christopher. She is survived by her partner of 46 years, Fil Yepez, her three daughters Cynthia Espinosa, Corrine Trujillo, and Diane Dipomazio; and one son Lawrence Lopez. She had nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Del Webb Memorial Hospital and Hospice of the Valley for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
