Frank Edward Sahanas, beloved son of Ida and Charles Sahanas, husband, father, brother and grandfather was born on August 8, 1938, and passed away on April 13, 2021. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Mary Sahanas and brother, Nicholas Sahanas.
He is survived by his children, Frank Sahanas Jr. (wife Cyndi Sahanas) and Deborah Gunn (husband Mark Gunn), his sisters Joy Gaul and Mary Rowe, his grandchildren Jenn Murphy, Scott Murphy, Koren Sahanas, Jenna Utz, Danielle Gunn and Jordan Gunn, many nieces and nephews and Priscilla Ribble.
He was born in the Bronx, NY and moved to New Jersey when he was a teenager. He enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 and served from 1955 to 1958. After the Army he went into the postal service and then into corporate America.
He moved between California and New Jersey between the years of 1987 and 2000. He then retired and moved to Lake Havasu with his now deceased wife, Margie, and lived there until 2010, when he moved to Buckeye, AZ with his partner Priscilla.
He was an avid poker player and enjoyed fishing in Dana Point with his son, Frankie. He traveled when he could and loved spending time with his family. Weekend dinners at his daughter Debbie’s house on Sundays were a treasured time. He also loved slipping 20 dollars to his grandkids when nobody was looking and always made people laugh.
He will be missed by all he encountered. His wish was to have a celebration of life in his honor which took place on Thursday, April 15, 2021. There will be no formal funeral service held for him. In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a donation to support veterans. Cards can be sent to:
