I had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Mr Fred Newell when I first visited America In 1994. I immediately felt welcomed by him and his beautiful wife Dottie and shared an amazing holiday with them. Even though I only met them that once I have always had treasured wonderful memories of Fred and Dottie that will stay with me forever. Family was the most important thing to Fred . I would like to pass on my deepest condolences to Bill, Cyndee. Joshua, Olivia, Daisy Mai and all the Newell family on the sad loss of Fred . I am thinking of you all at this sad time .

I was saddened to hear of Dads passing, but was consoled in knowing that he passed away with those he loved and cherished around him. I had the honor of being his son in law and get to spend time with him and grow to both love and admire him. My fondest memories are of him regaling us with stories of his childhood in West Virginia and from his time in the Service. I was inspired by Dad to join the service and in time to emulate him in becoming a US Army Warrant Officer, which seemed to be a family tradition with Bill also following in Dads footsteps. As a role model and mentor, I could not have asked for a better example. His kind heart and caring ways only clarified what a special person he truly was. I consider myself very lucky to have walked in his shadow; Dad as you were in life, you are in Death, by my side and in my heart. A fond farewell and final salute to you Chief; you fought the good fight, the battles won. Rest In Peace in the bed of heaven....your loving son, Ollie.

You will be missed Uncle Fred! I'll always cherish the times he and Dottie would come and visit. When we lived in Safford that was my earliest memory, i was probably in the 3rd Grade. I was so happy to reconnect with Uncle Fred when i came to Arizona for a work conference. I HAD to go see Uncle Fred and hopefully my cousins Cindie and Bill. I am on the younger end of my family of 12 so I didn't get to know of my dads siblings unless they came out to visit. Fred has this Great smile that seems to be permanent. I wish Dad could have come out to visit him a couple more times. I know health for both of them prevented them from doing so. We love you Fred! i am sure your with your sweet Dorothy now. Until we meet again.....
