

Gary Prochnow, 61, of Surprise, Arizona, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2014. Gary was born to Marvel (Weckwerth) and Ervin Prochno in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, on September 2, 1952. He was raised and attended school in Markesan, Wisconsin. He proudly served in the United States Army, Supply and Armor Division receiving the National Defense Service Medal and Expert Rifle award. Gary attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh obtaining his Bachelor of Arts majoring in Economics. Gary worked tirelessly for fair labor relations working for the National Labor Relations Board for 17 years and as Director of Industrial Sector Operations for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers until his retirement in 2012.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Prochnow and was the proud father of eight children: Lauren (28), Eric (23), Adam (20), Nicholas (16), Kodi (31), Brad (30), Tomas (26), Whitney (25) and granddaughters Kamille (2) and Lorelei (6 mo.). Further survived by brothers Keith (Debra) of Ripon, Wisconsin, and Randy of Markesan, Wisconsin.
Gary will be remembered for his giving nature and his love of the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Surprise Funeral Care, Surprise, Arizona.
