James Frederick Boe, 75, of Surprise, Arizona, was called forth through the gates of Heaven and into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, January 23 2021. He is and always will be a loving and devoted husband, Father, grandfather, brother and friend to those he held dear.
Jim was born in Omaha, Nebraska on June 18, 1945 to parents, Donald and Maree Boe.
As a child, Jim attended Cathedral High School where he loved playing football. After he graduated in 1963 he attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha and became of a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity before graduating in 1967.
Shortly after graduation from college, Jim was drafted into the US Army in 1967. He served in the 1st Air Calvary in Vietnam from 1968-1969. He received the Bronze Star and Air Medal.
Jim met Janet Mayhan in 1967 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. They were married in 1969 in Omaha, Nebraska. Their two children, Brian and Carolyn were their most precious gifts.
Jim was employed in the Medical Device Industry and his career path led him to many different locations. Jim, Janet and their two children lived in Omaha Nebraska, Eden Prairie Minnesota, Centerville Ohio, Plano Texas, Midlothian Virginia, Naperville Illinois and Yorkville Illinois. Jim used to tell his friends that you should always use a pencil when adding his address to their book. He loved the spirit of adventure and loved his association in the medical device industry, however, his one true love was “The Janet Marie”.
“The Janet Marie” was acquired in Racine, WI. Jim gathered his crew and they set sail heading south on Lake Michigan through Chicago and down south on the Illinois River delivering his most precious possession to a slip at the Starved Rock Yacht Club. The first “The Janet Marie”fed his passion for boating and towards bigger boats in the future. Many fond memories and lifelong friends were made at the Yacht Club.
Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren, Abbey, Andrew and Megan. He was passionate about teaching them the way to cast a fishing line, the way to hold a golf club and “hit it straight”. He loved attending their sporting events and cheering them on from the sidelines, and everyone always knew when Jim was at a game.
Jim loved his children and grandchildren and wanted to be a major part of each one’s life. He was enormously proud of each one and their accomplishments.
Craving a warmer climate and escape from 30 years in Illinois, Jim and Janet retired to Arizona in 2018. Jim will be missed greatly.
Jim is predeceased by his parents, W. Donald Boe and Maree Boe; Brother, Donald (Judy) Boe Jr; and Son, Brian (Kristin)Boe.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Mayhan Boe; Children, Carolyn (John) Boe Scott; Grandchildren, Abilgail Scott, Andrew Scott, and Megan Boe;, Brothers, Thomas (Kathleen) Boe, Michael Boe and Lawrence (Cathy) Boe; Sister, Elizabeth Barton.
