James Donald Cox

Jim was born on August 15, 1940 in Pembina County North Dakota to William and Mildred Cox. He graduated from Grafton ND High School, entered the US Army National Guards and served from 1963 -1968. He went on to earn his Masters Degree in Education and work as a principal in schools in North Dakota, Minnesota and Alaska.

After his retirement, Jim moved to Arizona, where he enjoyed entertaining friends and family. He was known to be a great cook and always appreciated a glass of fine wine or champagne.

Jim is survived by life partner Catherine Baimonte of Peoria, AZ, his son, David (Kim) Cox of Brainerd, MN, brother Ken Cox of Grand Forks, ND, nephew Bryan (Colleen) Cox of Tonaska WA and several other nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill and George Cox and sister Alice Rauman.

As per Jim’s request, there will be no services. Interment will be at the Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, AZ.
