Janet Louise Esparza (nee Johnson) died peacefully at home on May 8, 2026, in Surprise, Arizona, at the age of 76. Born July 9, 1949, in Orange, California, Janet was the daughter of Nina May Miller Johnson and Robert Simmie Johnson.

Janet graduated from Orange High School in 1967. For 30 years, Janet built a steady and dedicated career with Bank of America, serving with the kind of reliability and quiet commitment that marked so much of her life.

On September 20, 1969, Janet married her sweetheart, David Esparza. Together they shared 56 years of marriage, a life rooted in enduring devotion and steadfast love.

Janet found simple, meaningful joys in reading and outdoor walking-pastimes that reflected a thoughtful spirit and an appreciation for everyday peace. After retiring in 2005, Janet moved from Orange County, California to Surprise, Arizona where she dedicated her time raising her 2 granddaughters, alongside her husband.

Janet is survived by her husband, David of Surprise, Arizona; son, Scott Esparza of Surprise, Arizona; daughter-in-law Guadalupe Esparza of Surprise, Arizona; granddaughter, Destiny Esparza of Surprise, Arizona; granddaughter, Victoria Esparza of Surprise, Arizona; sister, Barbara Scott of Aliso Viejo, California; and sister-in-law Karen Jue of Aliso Viejo, California.

Funeral time and date to be determined at Fairhaven Memorial Park, Santa Ana, California.
