Jeffrey Foster Ray

Jeffrey Foster Ray passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025, surrounded by all his family who loved him dearly. Jeff fought a long battle after suffering several strokes and was taken far too soon at only 42 years old. Jeff was born on October 10, 1982, to parents Jerry and Linda (Fritsche) Ray. Jeff grew up in Arizona and graduated from Page High School. He went on to obtain a degree in EMT/Fire Science and then attended Nursing School to become a Registered Nurse. He worked for Banner Thunderbird as an OR charge nurse and loved his job and helping people.

Jeff met the love of his life, Chassidy (Berdicia) Ray and they quickly became inseparable. He proposed to her over Christmas 2015, on the beach in California. They were married on October 29, 2016, in Arizona. Jeff had always dreamed of having a family and together he and Chassidy had two amazing boys, Jameson Foster Ray & Liam James Ray. Jeff absolutely loved and adored his little family, and family meant the world to him. Jeff was a loving and devoted Husband, Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle and respected friend to many. He impacted so many people’s lives and his spirit will continue to live on through all of us who loved and cared deeply for him. His passing has left an unfillable void in all our hearts.

Jeff loved his trucks as anyone who knew him could tell you. He also loved making his home and yard a place to enjoy and relax with family and friends. He loved grilling/cooking, camping, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and was the most caring, thoughtful and compassionate person. He never saw a stranger and could talk to people of all ages.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife Chassidy and his two sons Jameson and Liam, his parents Jerry & Linda, his sister Jennifer (Ray) McGovern, husband Mike McGovern and nieces Katelyn & Kenzie McGovern all of Surprise, Arizona. Also surviving are aunts/uncles Janet Carr of Florida, Jackie Salt of Arizona, Karen and Allen Waeltz of Illinois, mother-in-law Elizabeth Wilson (Stan) of Arizona, father-in-law Albert Berdicia of Illinois, sister-in-laws Vanessa Rodriguez (Paul) of Arizona, Nina Berdicia (Nick) of Arizona, brother-in-law Bruce Berdicia (Gennesis) of Illinois, nieces and nephews Mylee, Elijah, Ariah, Jacian, Alana, Emric & Ileanhi as well as many cousins and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Thomas & Helen Ray of Illinois, his maternal grandparents Fred and Doris Fritsche of Illinois, his uncle James Ray of Illinois and his uncle David Carr of Florida.

We are planning a celebration of Life for Jeff April 26th, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at the Vistancia Mountain Vista Club Clubhouse located at 29701 N Sunrise Point, Peoria, Arizona.
