He was born in Laramie, Wyoming on January 26 during The Blizzard of 1949. Although he often visited the family ranch in Wyoming, Jerry primarily grew up in Sierra Madre, California. He graduated from Pasadena High School, followed by a degree in Economics from UCLA.
Jerry spent most of his lengthy career in financial services for Merrill Lynch and Fidelity Investments as a stockbroker, manager and regional manager. His lifelong passion, however, was model railroading including designing, building, and running layouts.
After moving to Wickenburg, AZ he became involved with the Sigler Museum, the Wickenburg Rotary Club, and the Webb Center for the Performing Arts where he served as Treasurer and then President of the Board.
Jerry will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vicki Riggins, his sister Lana Danta, brother and sister-in-laws Bob and Marijo Van Dyke, nieces Shelley and Benna (Susan), and nephew Michael. In accordance with his wishes, no service or celebration of life is scheduled. If you would like to honor Jerry, please consider a donation to the Webb Center for the Performing Arts by going to webbcenter.org or by phone at (1) 928-684-6624.
