Jimmie Harold Hendricks

Jimmie Harold Hendricks, 84, of Waddell, Arizona, passed away on August 4, 2026. Born August 31, 1941, Jimmie lived a life marked by steady courage, enduring faith, and a deep devotion to those he loved. He will be remembered with respect and gratitude by all who had the privilege to know him.

Raised in California, Jimmie grew up alongside his parents, Ruby and Harold, and his siblings—brothers Mack and Donald, and sisters Ann and Frances. In his youth, he ran Cross Country Track in high school and graduated from Baldwin Park High School in California, carrying forward the discipline and determination that would remain evident throughout his life.

Jimmie served in the Air Force and later dedicated himself to public service in law enforcement. He worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Alameda County, California, and went on to serve with the Los Angeles Police force, retiring after 23 years of service. Throughout these years, he was known as a man of integrity—honest in word, steadfast in duty, and resilient through the demands of a career spent protecting others.

Jimmie is survived by his LIFE Partner, Kelma Jo; his children, David, Jimmie Lee, Lisa, and Dani; and his goddaughter, Ashley. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as many members of his extended family and close friends. To those who loved him, he was not only a constant presence, but a beloved source of strength—someone who stood up for his family and friends and for what he believed in, without hesitation.

A man who valued companionship and simple joys, Jimmie loved to play golf and to travel—whether by RV or on road trips. He was a devoted Dodgers baseball fan and a loyal USC football supporter, and he brought the same spirited loyalty to the people in his life. With a quick wit and an easy manner, he was a good friend and someone others found comforting to talk to.

Jimmie’s life also reflected a commitment to community and fellowship. He was an Elk in Washington State, was involved in DOC Church in Glendora, California, and was a member of the American Legion—places where his faithful nature and genuine care for others found steady expression.

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the Nurses and Doctors of 4North and ICU at Boswell Hospital who cared for us the last month and helped him to cross cover. Their compassion and support will be remembered with sincere gratitude.

Jimmie’s legacy is one of love, honesty, and quiet bravery—carried forward in the lives of those he cherished, and in the many friendships he nurtured with a generous heart.
