John was one of the most selfless human beings I've ever known. When my father, Don Smith, was sick, John called frequently to talk to him (even though John was sick himself). He wanted my Dad to get out and walk so it would extend my Dad's life. When my Dad passed away, John was the first person to call and offer help...when he, I'm sure, didn't feel, physically, like helping anyone. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Berger family, his presence will be missed for a long time.

I was lucky to have met and worked with John through Surprise Fire and Medical. John was very good at his job with the Crisis Response Team. If there was any person you could go to for advice it was John.

He was very good at working with grieving and or stressed customers. John knew everything about the workings and policies of the Crisis Response Team. My wife and myself used to relieve John and Frank who was John's partner. John would always give my wife Julie a big hug every time he seen her. Those hugs always made my wife's day.

It's also an honor to have known John for all he gave serving our country. John will surly be missed, and he made a difference in all the lives be touched, because he was that type of person

John & CR partner Frank were instrumental in my decision to volunteer for Surprise Fire & Medical CR Team. John was a compassionate patient man willing to teach others the skills he’d learned in a lifetime of service. He always had a big smile and a hug every time I saw him. He will be sorely missed.
Thank you John, you will be forever in my heart.

John, you will be so missed by our family. You have always been such a great neighbor and friend and we treasure all of our memories of you. You have always been so kind and generous and willing to help out in any way you could. I know my Dad, Jerry, who is no longer with us on earth, always spoke fondly of you as well. I'm so happy I got to speak with you one last time a couple of weeks ago to let you know how much we all appreciate and love you.
Our deepest condolences to Paula and the rest of John's family. God Bless you John and say hi to our Dad in heaven.....Love, Dara, Lauren and Gloria Stewart

So very sad to know of John Berger's passing.
John was the best neighbor who, along with Paula, made our neighborhood one of the most fun in the entire Sun City Grand.

When my husband, Don Smith, was alive we talked to John and used his wealth of knowledge very often. We were one of the first to move into the Pinnacle, and John was one of the first friends to greet us.

We will miss you terribly, John, for all you were to most of us. And I give my condolences to the whole Berger family.
