John Rogers Sheetz

John Rogers Sheetz, 83, died September 3, 2026. Born March 20, 1943, in Glendale, CA, John was the son of Alyce and John Sheetz. He made his home in Moises Lake, Washington and later in Peoria, Arizona.

John devoted himself to learning, spending over 16 years in college—an enduring reflection of the steady determination and work ethic that shaped so much of his life. That same diligence guided his professional path as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration, a career marked by responsibility, precision, and steadfast service. He also served in the United States Air Force, answering a call to duty with quiet resolve and an adventurous spirit.

John was married to Kay Riverside Sheetz, and together they shared matrimony and the daily commitments that make a life. He was preceded in death by his wife and by his daughter, Lyliane Sheetz, who was his pride and joy. He is survived by his grandson, his son in law, and a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory dearly.

In his personal life, John carried himself with a regal, organized presence, and his Presbyterian faith remained an important part of who he was. He also gave of his time through the Civil Air Patrol organization, extending his dedication to aviation and service beyond his career. In all he did, John was beloved—remembered for the steadfast way he worked, the respect he showed others, and the sense of purpose with which he met each day.

John will be inurned at Enumclaw Evergreen Memorial Park.
