

Johnny G. Garcia of Surprised, AZ, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on September 9, 2014. He was born on August 15, 1928 to Santos and Maria Garcia in Williams, AZ. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Alice Garcia. Johnny is also survived by his two daughters, Margarita Garcia and Anna Fidela (Fifi) and her husband Chris Calzada; three grandchildren, Christopher Calzada, Monica (Jorge Cruz) and Angelica Calzada; five wonderful great grandchildren, Leilani, Johnny, Lulu, Charlie and Cash; and one sister, Mary Monreal; many nieces, nephews and friends. Johnny is preceded in death by his son, Johnny E. Garcia. Johnny worked as a foreman for the farming company, J.A. Wood, out of Tolleson and Scottsdale, AZ. After his retirement from farming in 1990, he and his family opened Nino's Mexican Restaurant in Sun City where he sat at the register greeting his customers for 24 years. Johnny shared his love of family, baseball, casinos and deer huntiing with everyone he met. He will be deeply missed by family and friends and forever loved. Like Johnny often said, "I'll see you tonight when the moon is shining bright over the state of Oklahoma." 74--Johnny says "good night." The visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, September 15, 2014, at Surprise Funeral Care, 16063 W. Bell Rd, Surprise, AZ. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Seton Roman Catholic Church, 9728 W. Palmeras Dr, Sun City, AZ. Interment to follow at West Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale, AZ. Arrangements under the direction of Surprise Funeral Care, Surprise, Arizona.
