A great friend, team mate, American Patriot and all around great human being has been given his well earn rest from labor. I will always cherish the hundreds of miles we ran together throughout the country roads of Lee and St Francis Counties in Arkansas. I remember fondly the countless hours we spent listening to Sly & The Family Stone, The Dramatics and The Ohio Players until Momma Estellar yelled out, "Are Y’all alright back there!" We dreamed big, played hard and was determined to be more than what was expected of us. My friend, you did much more, and you leave a trail of love and kindness and a legacy of what it means to Show-Up and be Accountable. Just as we always talked about breaking free from the pack and running free on our long runs, you have broken free from the pack and ascended into the Green pastures of Heaven. Job well done my brother and friend and as I said to you during our last road race in Marianna “go ahead, I'll see you at the finish line."

To the family, you are in my constant prayers and thoughts. You are part of a great family legacy with deep roots and strong branches. You are loved and will continue to do great things. "Stay in the race, find your pace and finish." I know that's what Junior would say. When we got to a tough part of a long run, Junior (I called him Shack) would say, "time to attack." So, Let's Go Family!

Leon was a very good friend of mine. Everytime he would walk in the bar I would look at him and he would look at me and we would have a competition on who can last the longest on yelling, "Heeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhh!" I will always remember when he told me when he first met me that was pretty good at pool and now I just suck! Lol I will think of Leon when I'm shooting pool! You're in a better place Leon and I will never forget about you brotha! Love you always!

My dear friend Leon, funny how I recall our first encounter "I said, hey sarge, where's your hat", years later you took me under your wings and as you said you taught me the game of golf or as you said I was your student. I learned well my friend. We had some deep conversations, oh how I wish..... You got your wings fly on brother, now take your rest my friend. You are missed! To the family I have and will lift you all in prayer. John 14:1-4

A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven. We part with our beloved friend in pain.
Leon, thank you for taking me under your wing as a young SSgt. Words can't express how I feel at this moment. I will miss you so dearly. I love you, Uncle Leon.

Leon was a bright light in an often dim room. He made me smile and laugh so often. I am honored to call him my friend. Really I considered him as my family. Rest in peace good Sir. Thank you for your friendship and of course your service to our country. Love ya Leon. (Yoo-hoo!) <3

I met Leon during our Air Force enlisted career. I got to know him better after we started to play golf together. He was fun to be around and could always make you laugh. Leon, it was a pleasure knowing you.

When I met Leon we had just moved here from Las Vegas with my family. Me and my husband met him at the Sage and Sand. He was so full of life and laughter, we became family over the years . Through the good and the bad times we always looked out for each other. I truly lost one of my closest friend. He made more of an impact in this life than I think he even knew. He will be sincerely missed ..
