Lester William Callas

Les dedicated his career to education, serving as both a teacher and coach. Through the years, he guided and mentored countless students and athletes, leaving a lasting impact not only on the field but also in the lives of those he coached. His passion for coaching was matched only by his belief in hard work, perseverance, and commitment to his family.

He was widowed by his beloved wife, Michele Callas, with whom he shared a life of love and partnership. He is survived by his two daughters, Kristine White and Lisa Kees; his sons-in-law, Brian White and Justin Kees; and his sister-in-law Barbara Crecelius. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Maddy Kees, Jackson Kees, and August White, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. His legacy lives on not only through his family but also in the many lives he helped shape over the years.

A celebration of Les’ life will be held this summer in the Chicago area. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend and honor a man whose influence will not be forgotten.

Lester William Callas will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
