Linda was born on July 11, 1943, in Sacramento, California. The daughter of the late James and Ruth Mackey, she is survived by her husband Richard Dern of Buckeye, AZ, and her two sons Steve Duncan of Arizona, and Brian Duncan (Kwan) of Colorado. Linda worked as a Legislative Assistant for three Speakers of the House of the Arizona House of Representatives. She retired in Buckeye, AZ, and was an expert and prolific quilter. She loved learning new quilting techniques and teaching others what she knew. Linda’s legacy will live on forever through the countless number of beautiful quilts she crafted over many years for her family, friends, and others, and through the many ladies she inspired to quilt. She also loved spending time at the family cabin in South Lake Tahoe, CA, going on walks, reading on the deck, and watching the sun set over the lake.
At her request, there will be no funeral services. Remembrances may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children or your favorite charity.
