Lucille “Lucy” Jaramillo was born on September 28, 1937 in Oakland, California to parents, Lewis Clark Willis and Ethel May McDaniels Lewis. Lucy passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025 at the age of 87 in Sun City, Arizona.
Lucy was a devoted and loving wife to Maurice “Nick” Jaramillo, faithfully supporting him throughout his distinguished career as a Command Master Chief in the United States Navy. Lucy held many jobs throughout her life, including one where she cared for the elderly in nursing homes. Their enduring love was a shining example to all who knew them.
A proud mother of six children, Lucy’s legacy lives on through 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was selfless in her generosity, always ready to give herself to friends, family, and anyone in need. Her love for her grandchildren was boundless and her great grandchildren held a truly special place in her heart.
She is survived by five of her six children, Barbara, Doug, Tony, Janise, Sandra and all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lucy was known for her sharp sense of humor and her playful ability to tease those she loved, always in the spirit of joy and affection. She brought laughter and light into every room.
A gifted cook with a deep love for Mexican food, Lucy turned every meal into a celebration. Her enchiladas and chili rellenos were family favorites and brought comfort and connection to all who gathered at her table.
Later in life, Lucy and Nick fulfilled a dream by building their mountain home overlooking the water in Washington state-a peaceful, beautiful retreat, where family gathered, stories were told, and memories were made that will be cherished forever.
Lucy was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend. Her strength, humor, generosity, and boundless love will continue to inspire all those who are blessed to know her. She will be dearly missed.
She will be laid to eternal rest with her husband, Nick at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Services will be held on July 24, 2025 at 10am and the burial will be July 25, 2025 at 10am.
