Lylah was a small-town girl at heart and thought of herself as a cowgirl. She adored living in Cody and had many wonderful childhood memories of Wyoming. She then moved to Arizona with her family during her high school years. Lylah graduated from Ironwood High School in Glendale, Arizona in 1990.
Over the years, when she was able to work, Lylah’s career spanned print modeling for Ford Models in LA, the insurance industry, mortgage underwriting and commercial printing. She had aspirations to write a book, travel the world, learn new languages and create a podcast. Unfortunately, her multiple medical conditions kept Lylah from pursuing her dreams.
The last six years of Lylah’s life were a constant battle. She was hospitalized in critical condition in 2019 and again in 2020 with more life-threatening issues. Through all the struggles, Lylah was a tenacious fighter, a survivor. She managed to pull through each time, despite multiple surgeries, hospital stays, ER visits, a constant stream of doctor visits and chronic debilitating pain. She rose above with sheer tenacity and seemed to be on the path to recovery. Her passing was unexpected to her friends and family.
Lylah is survived by her mother, Donnes Yvonne Bennett, her brother, Jared Winsor Bennett and his wife Heather Lynn Bennett, and her sister and best friend, Niccol Walsh.
Lylah was a loving daughter and sister. She was a kind and generous friend, unwavering in her loyalty. She was an extroverted introvert, a deeply spiritual person and a free spirit. She loved all her pets, especially her dog, Lilly, who helped her recover after her first major surgery and beyond. She fought a brave health battle for many years and left this world too soon. She will be sorely missed but we take comfort in the fact that she is finally reunited with her loving father, Duke Nelson Bennett.
The Bennett family would like to express our deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and care on behalf of our beloved Lylah.
