Mary "Mimi" Frances Miller

Mimi Miller passed away peacefully in Sun City West, Arizona on July 25th, 2022. She was 80 years old.

Mimi was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 25th, 1942 as Mary Frances Celichowski to parents Eugene and Sophie Celichowski. She graduated from St Mary’s Academy in Milwaukee and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. In 1968 she married the love of her life Todd Miller and they remained together until his death in 2006. Mimi & Todd were both high school teachers, and for the vast majority of their careers taught at D.C Everest High School in Schofield, Wisconsin. In addition to teaching in the English department, Mimi worked along with her now dearly departed friend Karen Haines to direct the school’s musical theatre productions, including “Brigadoon,” “Bye Bye, Birdie,” and “West Side Story,” among many others.

After retirement and Todd’s passing, Mimi moved to Arizona in October of 2007. A very skilled vocalist from an early age, she gravitated toward the karaoke scene in Surprise and Peoria. She was also a lifelong voracious reader and in her married life enjoyed spending her summers camping in northern Wisconsin.

Mimi is survived by her son Mark Miller (Brandi Raddant), nieces & nephews Christopher Celichowski (Bonnie), Father John Celichowski Jr, Sara Spella (Dean), Kerry Mc Cue, Amy Celichowski (engaged to Casey), Emily Celichowski (engaged to Dan), Kristen Finch (Marcus), Amy Hackbarth (Bob), and Courtney Bandomir (Dave). She is also survived by her beloved companion John Mitten and numerous close friends in Arizona and the upper Midwest.

She was preceded in death by parents Sophie and Eugene, her brother John Sr, her husband Todd Miller, her cousin Barbara Cady, her brothers in-law Bruce & Gregg Miller, and nephew Tim Celichowski.

There will be a Life Celebration event at J&T’s Copper Penny, 10675 W Peoria Ave Sun City, AZ 83531 on Monday, August 1st from 6pm to 10pm. An additional celebration is in the works for the Wausau, Wisconsin area and will be announced via social media as soon as possible.
