

Mike was born to Maxine and Rudy Astuto in Long Beach, California. He graduated from high school in Moses Lake, Washington and later Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He joined the Navy at 17. Mike briefly attended school in Grand Junction, Colorado and was encouraged to transfer to BYU. At BYU he met Becky, whom he later married in 1969. Mike and Becky raised 6 beautiful children – Missy, Josh, Seth, Molly, Jesse and Heidi, and later showered several grandchildren with love Michelle, Harmony, Orion, Amberleigh, Curtis, Kelsey, Emmy and Kayla.
Mike and Becky made friends everywhere they lived – New Guinea, Saudi Arabia, Perth, Australia, Summit County, Steamboat and Leadville, Colorado and within the community where they ultimately retired in Surprise, Arizona.
Mike was a well known and respected mine surveyor in Western Australia and later a bus driver at Copper Mountain in Colorado.
Mike is survived by his wife, Becky, four children and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Rudy Astuto from Washington, Children Seth and Heidi Astuto and Grandchild Kelsey Thomas from Colorado.
Services are scheduled for Saturday April 25, 2026, from 1:00-4:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (14878 N. Verde Vista Dr., Surprise, AZ 85388).
