

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michelle Lewis on October, 14th,2024. At the age of 47, Michelle succumbed to neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2), a battle she faced with unparalleled strength, and resilience. Michelle’s happiness shone brightly, undeterred by the many obstacles she encountered. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Ira P Lewis II and her beloved son, Ira P Lewis III age 17. Ira her son not only brought Michelle joy, but was her beacon of love, life, and courage, inspiring her to keep fighting every step of the way.
A pioneering advocate for individuals with disabilities, Michelle was widely recognized as a public figure and voice for the disability and NF2 communities. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, embracing life’s challenges with grace and empowering countless others to live beyond their limitations. Michelle’s relentless dedication to raising awareness, advancing rights, and offering support to those affected by NF2 and other disabilities has left a profound mark on the community she loved so deeply.
Michelle’s warmth, compassion, and advocacy will forever be remembered. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the hearts she inspired, and the change she championed. Family, friends, and community members are invited to join a memorial service on November 16th, 2024 at 20638 N 16th Way Phoenix, AZ 85024, services will start at 12:30pm where we will celebrate her life, her legacy, and the indomitable spirit she carried through all her days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Michelle’s Son to help ensure his opportunities for further education. Michelle’s journey may have ended, but her impact will live on, echoing in the lives she changed, the beautiful young man she has raised, and the hope she ignited in the NF2 and disability communities.
